Lady Lions Basketball

   All,

   Cheer on the Lady Lions basketball team to victory of Minnesota on Sunday, January 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Arena! As an extra bonus, those wishing to do so may be able to meet the team before the game and wish them well. Details are in the works on this. There will be a lot of local interest in this game as well as there is a VERY good freshman on the team from Minnesota. Read on for key info:

   1) Meeting the team - If you wish to do this, please call Nancy Hammond at 419-450-8888. She is in dialogue with the PSU Athletic department and it is possible that we may be able to say hello to the team and wish them well before game time. As of the time of this email, we are not yet sure if the team's schedule will allow, but it is looking good so far. Nancy will supply details to those who express an interest. Feel free to call up to and including game day!

   2) Purchasing tickets - As of January 4, the U of M ticket office says sales for the game are going VERY well. If you purchase tickets we suggest you call the ticket office ASAP at 612-624-3514 and request seats behind the Penn State team bench. Sections 107 or 108 (corner section) are the best available seats behind the bench as of the last time we checked. Williams arena address is:

   1925 University Ave SE/Minneapolis/55455 3) Directions - These directions have been cut/pasted from the U of M web site. It does not look like they account for the 35W bridge collapse but at least this info help you get your bearings:

   From Interstate 94 (Westbound): Take the Huron Boulevard exit and follow that to the intersection of Huron Boulevard and Washington Avenue Southeast. Take slight right onto 23rd Avenue Southeast. Take left onto 6th Street Southeast. Turn left onto Oak Street Southeast. The arena will be ahead on the right.

   From Interstate 94 (Eastbound): Take the Interstate 35W North exit and follow the directions below. From Interstate 35W (Northbound): Take the University Avenue/4th Street Southeast exit and take a right on University Avenue. Follow that until Oak Street and the arena will be on the left.

   From Interstate 35W (Southbound): Take the University Avenue/4th Street Southeast exit. Go past 4th Street Southeast and turn left on University Avenue. Follow that until Oak Street and the arena will be on the left.
