2018 Big Ten Alumni Softball Tournament
Help us represent Penn State strong!
The Penn State squad is getting geared up for the 2018 Big Ten Alumni Softball Tournament (co-ed). This year's tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 25 at Mendakota Park softball fields in Mendota Heights (2171 Dodd Road - just north of 494 and east of 35E). The first game has been scheduled at 9:00am. The remainder of the schedule is listed below.
What we need from you:
If you are interested in playing for the PENN STATE team, please email softball@psumn.com. Our goal is to have around 18 commitments. You do not need to commit for the entire day - if you can only make the morning or afternoon, let us know!
Other information:
- Our goal is to have fun. Accordingly, we will "come to play", meaning we will not conduct any practices between now and game day. We value your time and are looking for a one day commitment.
- Depending on the response from you and your children, friends and other support team members may be needed. Preference is given to Penn State Alumni and their significant others. Please email the names of all interested and their relationship to you so we can see how many we have.
- This has historically been one of our most fun events (for the whole Family) of the year. Plan to join in with the fun!
- Plans for lunch have not yet been determined - if you have a preference, let us know.
Below is the typical schedule of events:
- 8:30am Captains' meeting with the umps at the gazebo; players arrive and start warming up
- 9:00am First game (all teams get 4 guaranteed games)
- 10:15am Second Game for PSU
- 11:30-2pm Lunch/Break (Moose Country- Details below)
- 2:30pm PSU 3rd Game
- 3:30pm PSU 4th game
- 4:45pm Championship game (Top team from each side)
Lunch: We will once again head to Moose Country (Address: 857 Sibley Memorial Highway -- Mendota Heights) for lunch. I have provided Moose Country with input gathered from the team reps at the meeting, and we're planning out an even better experience.
